A trip to Nepal is incomplete if you
have not been on a jungle safari. While the mountains of the north have
some of the highest and most magnificent peaks in the world, the
tropical jungles of the Terai preserve some of the best wildlife
habitat in the subcontinent. Some of these rich wildlife habitats are
now protected, and can be tours on elephant
back, 4 WD vehicles, and dugout canoes or on foot accompanied by a
licensed guide.
Nepal has 16 national parks, wildlife reserves and conservation area,
occupying 16% of its total geographical area. Jungle safaris on
elephant back or Jeep rides are offered at the Parsa Wildlife Reserve,
Royal Bardia National Park, Royal Chitwan National Park and the Royal
Sukhlaphanta wildlife Reserve, all located in the terai.
Among them, there are two famous two National Parks Royal Chitwan
National Park, & Bardia National Park where you can explore the
wild-life getting yourself deep into the heart of the forest, while the
others serve as the natural habitat to thousands of animals including
Snow-Leopard, Gharries, Crocodiles, Ram, Bob Cats, endagered Red Panda,
Elks, Deers, Anteplores, Kasturi, monkeys, hundreds of birds (in fact
Arun Valley has the largest population of birds (650+) and butterflie
800 in the entire world.

Initially it was established as hunting reserve in
1976, later transformed into Karnali Wildlife Reserve and finally, in
1982, it was converted into Bardiya National Park. It is situated in plain
(Tarai ) land east of Karnali river in western Nepal and covers 968
sq.km. It is the home of tiger, wild elephant, rhinoceros, swamp deer,
blackbuck, Gharial crocodile, march mugger crocodile and Gangetic
dolphin, Bengal florican, Lesser florican, Silver-eared mesia, and
Sarus crane. 30 different mammals, and 250 species of birds.

Day 1 |
Arrival and
reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2 |
Sightseeing of
Kathmandu Durbar square, Swayambhunath and Patan.

Day 3 |
Departure from Kathmandu to Bardiya by
private transport. After about seven hours arrival at the lodge.
Reception, installation and information about lodge and its
fascilities. Short visit of Tharu village. Dinner.

Day 4 |
Jungle safari on
Elephant back. There is chance to see Asian Elephant, Great one Horn
Rhinoceros, Spotted Deer or Chital, Hog Deer, Barking Deer, Samber,
Swamp Deer or Barasingha, Hilgai or Bull, Black Buck, Wild Boar, Royal
Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Wild Dog, Golden Jackal, Striped Hyena and other
animals. You encounter small mammalians during the elephant ride, visit
of visitors center, visit of crocodile reproduction farm and Tharu
cultural museum. Afternoon nature walk, an excellent opportunity to
discover wild animals. And in the evening Tharu dance.

Jungle drive or
second time elephant riding. And in the evening Tharu dance.

Day 6 |
Visit of Dolphins
along the Karnali river and after lunch departure. Arrival in Kathmandu by flight from Nepalgunj. Night in hotel..

Transfer to the airport.
