Pisang peak is one of the non-expedition trekking peaks in Nepal. It rises opposite of Annapurna. Pisang Peak lies roughly in between the Annapurna and Manaslu, both 8 thousand metre peaks. Pisang Peak rises above from Pisang village. This peak is considered as an easy climbing peak in Nepal. From Pisang village the path ascends though sparse wood and pasture to the kharka (alpine pasture). This is best place for setting up the base camp. The well-defined ridge leads to the final snow slope, which is quite steep but it is not difficult to reach the summit. This trek offers everything to match for its rugged mountain scenery, trekking challenges and the expose it provides on the variety of ethnic Nepalese cultures, starting in the lowland paddy fields. Strenuous trekking is well rewarded at both low and high altitudes, on the approach to the Thorong La (5414m) as well as during the descent from it. Close up view of the Annapurna range.
